Soy.
So since my last question didn't receive any responses... I am going to state blandly experiential statements from the life of yours truly.
This evening, they had an extra Soy Mocha at Caribou, not refusing a free drink, I took it. As I am drinking it I think to myself; "Wow, this is surprisingly earthy."
Thought process progressed as follows:
"Eva (my sister) claims soy milk makes her throat tigthen up... is my tongue numb?"
"Or did I slightly burn it trying to experience its earthy-ness to soon?"
"Hope I don't choke on my tongue..."
The end.

Winter Camping.
On Friday I am going camping in Door County for the weekend... SO PUMPED!
Its going to be so ridiculously cold. I am excited to just try to stay alive.
I think its kind of funny that in a matter of weeks I go from the jungle rot heat of Peru to the slush-puppy blood of the shores of Lake Michigan.
We are going to Newport State Park.
First day: Mile hike in and set up camp.
Day two: Tear down camp, hike to second camp site, set up camp.
Day Three: Tear down, hike out.
Hope I don't have to change my name to Donner...

Welcome to the Jungle.
As I stated last week, I am going to be posting my top fives from our trip to Peru... sorry I have been a bit lazy on my promise but here we go:
Top 5 Strangest Things.
5. Gaining a new understanding for chicken soup... "is that a foot?" I waited until Blake ate the heart before telling him I thought he just ate the heart, good times.
4. What seemed to be laymen dressed up as police for our protect up the river... definitely didn't take DNR regulated hunter safety.
3. Garbage fires on the side of the roads, I guess that is what you get without an organized sanitation service. It just seemed so strange.
2. Baby chickens, chicks, running around with no feathers at all... weirdest thing.
1. Being caught off guard by a mother breastfeed on a bench in public... while the young child stood in front of her. I understand its a culture thing and that its healthy for the child but still... strange.
I will update the next few lists sooner...until then check out the treasure trove; its a sweet resource site. Good stuff.

Jungle Love.
I am writing again... because I am back like the future.
As many of you know I just returned from a trip to Peru. How can adequately express the journey?
Not one for wasting my eye movements and thought processes on excessive discourses concerning experiences that simply can't be captured by run on sentences and bygone hours; I have decided to post top 5 lists for the next few days to provide a rounder illustration of my time in South America.
Top 5 Moments:
5. Walking out of the airport in Pulcallpa, smelling the warm air and seeing the city for the first time.
4. Taking a bite out of a fruit that I had never heard of... fresh from the tree.
3. Watching the sun set over the Andes from the boat during our first night on the river.
2. Eric and I fighting side by side against a few of the village boys in a classic stick-sword fight... who needs verbal language when you can speak the language of guys world wide: play fighting.
1. Standing on the shore of a South American village, watching the community come together to unload the water filters we brought; while knowing that all the people around me would have better lives.

Meaning of the Millennium
I have started my paper for Theology class and its on the meaning of the Millennium.
In case you don't know (I won't hold it against you) there are references in scripture, mainly Revelation 20:1-6 that mentions a 1000 year reign of Christ during THIS Earth before Satan is finally destroyed and the New Earth is created.
There are three main views of this Millennium.
1. Christ will return BEFORE the Millennium- therefore PRE-Millennial view.
2. Christ will return AFTER the Millennium- POST-Millennial view.
3. We are currently living in the Millennium- A-Millennial view.
Though these make for WONDERFUL evening reading... I think there are a few things that are more important than these views, things that we can take away as absolutes from studying end times.
1. Jesus Christ is The Ruler of The Kingdom that everyone will be subject to, every knee will bow.
2. Jesus is returning to finish the Battle that he began his first time around.
3. What then is the purpose of living lives for our selves? What does living "in the moment" matter when we know what eternity holds?
Therefore, in studying this topic I am challenged in how I live.
How am I living in light of knowing that my life is more then the now?
How am i living knowing that Jesus, the leader of the winning side is actually come back to finish the war... like for real. Its not just a story. Its not a long ways off.
Do you talk about Jesus and or God but worry more about your own life then about eternity and about Jesus finishing the war that we are in the middle of?
